Hi! My name is Nika and I am 21 years old. I have a 16 month old son named Elijah and am currently a stay-at-home mum. I have studied a diploma of business and am about to enter my first year of nursing. In my pre-mum life I worked as a baby sitter and a support worker. I completed my breastfeeding peer support training while I was pregnant and found it significantly helped me prepare to breastfeed. I have overcome challenges such as cracked nipples, oversupply, introducing solids / baby-led weaning, pumping, biting and the joy of feeding a toddler. No matter how prepared you are, all mums face breastfeeding challenges and I'm here to help you understand your options and support you. Every breastfeeding journey is unique. Please feel free to contact me either antenatally or postnatally. I can come to you, you can come to me, or we can meet for coffee. Whatever situation works best for you, I'm here to help.
Peer Supporters are not medical professionals, but are volunteers trained to provide information and support through common challenges to the normal course of breastfeeding.
